One key manufucturer in Europe conducted a project that evaluated the PH of conditioning products developed by many numerous, top level manufacturers. We can measure this result ourselves by using litmus paper to find and record this same type on evaluation on the masques and conditioners we use.
Their findings after testing many brands: A Masque is not as acidic as a conditioner!!!! Why??
A masque is to penetrate deeper into the hair structure. While a conditioner’s function is to hydrate, smooth and close the cuticle for effective detangling and easy combing!!!! From this I assume that after rinsing out a masque, we might apply a conditioner which would provide a perfect finish for an intense salon reparative treatment. I understand the chemistry.
